1) Overview
These Terms govern your purchase and use of our custom, made-to-order lithophanes (and included wooden stand). We currently ship within the United States only. By ordering, you agree to these Terms and our Refund Policy.
2) Your Content & License
You represent that you have all rights necessary to the photo(s) and content you submit and that they don’t infringe others’ rights or contain unlawful content. You grant Lightframe a limited, non-exclusive license to use submitted files solely to process, produce, and deliver your order (including internal QA and backups). We won’t use your photo for marketing without your written permission.
We may refuse or cancel an order we believe may infringe third-party rights (with a refund). If you submit infringing content, you agree to indemnify Lightframe for losses and costs arising from the infringement, to the extent permitted by law.
Takedown/notice procedure: Rights holders can email lightframepics@gmail.com with a description of the work, the allegedly infringing material, and contact info. We’ll acknowledge within 2 business days and remove/hold production while we review.
3) Orders, Pricing & Availability
Orders are offers to buy; we may decline or cancel (with a full refund) for issues like payment failure or obvious pricing/stock errors. If we discover a pricing error after you order, we’ll contact you to confirm the corrected price or cancel with a full refund.
4) Production & Cancellations
We display simple status labels (e.g., Received → In Design/Prep → In Print Queue → Printing → Shipped). Cancellations/changes are accepted until production begins, defined as the moment your job is placed in our print queue (we also send a brief email when it enters “In Print Queue”). If the status isn’t yet visible, you may cancel within 2 hours of ordering. After production begins, cancellations aren’t guaranteed; because materials/time may already be consumed, we typically proceed with a remake rather than a refund. 5) Shipping & Risk of Loss
Risk of loss passes on the carrier’s Delivered scan at your address. If tracking is under carrier review for a mis-scan, we pause related deadlines as outlined in the Refund Policy. We also provide practical assistance: documentation for claims, one carrier contact, and guidance on next steps—please notify the carrier and us within 48 hours of a Delivered scan if you can’t locate the package. 6) Quality Variations
Lithophanes glow and will appear different across ambient lighting and angles compared to on-screen previews. Reasonable variance and normal handmade tolerances (e.g., tiny layer lines or micro-marks under ~1 mm, slight tone variance not visible at arm’s length) are expected and not defects.
7) Warranties & Liability
Limited warranty: At delivery, materials and workmanship are free from defects; remedies are as set out in the Refund Policy (typically a remake first, then a refund if we can’t make it right).
Except for that limited warranty, products and services are provided “as is,” and we disclaim other warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Liability cap: For direct damages only, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the applicable order. This cap does not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including personal injury, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.
Safety: Keep products away from open flame; avoid high heat (>140°F / 60°C); indoor use only; turn off or unplug lights when unattended.
8) Governing Law & Changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ohio, USA. For material changes, we’ll provide notice (e.g., email to recent customers within the last 12 months and/or a banner on the site). Non-critical updates take effect 30 days after posting; critical legal/security updates are effective on posting. Changes are not retroactive and don’t apply to orders placed before the effective date.
